‘Transition from Trainee to Teacher Program’
Our personal commitment to your professional development.
Our Nomad internship program is designed not only for trainees who graduate from the Nomad 200 Hour Teacher but for any trainees who have graduated from another 200 hour teaching training course and are ready to make the transition from trainee to teacher.
Graduates will have the opportunity to work alongside and assist our senior teachers and studio staff by developing invaluable teaching, adjusting and classroom management skills, customer relations and an introduction of how a yoga studio runs in a professional and supportive environment.
We are excited to offer this opportunity to graduates so they can revise and deepen their knowledge by completing tasks that will reinforce and deepen their knowledge of recently completed teacher training and also allows graduates to refresh and update the knowledge and skills already gained as a graduate of other yoga teacher training programs and are now ready to start teaching.
Duration – 1 month (4 weeks)
Support reception shifts x 2 a week – interns will assist reception staff. Duties will include but are not limited to – check ins, customer relations and classroom management (ensuring studio is clean and tidy, water, towels are available etc)
Support teacher doing adjustments/shadow teacher x 3 a week.These classes will be assigned to you at the beginning of each week.
Option to teach 2 beginner /gentle yoga classes per week in weeks 3 & 4
2 classes a week interns are to sit in on a class and take notes. Notes must include but are not limited to – sequence, cues and modifications, what they wouldn’t do and why. (Must be a different teacher each class whenever possible.)
Prepare 4 classes with different themes/purpose plus cues for mentor to evaluate and give feedback (1 per week)

A typical day during TTC your Yoga Teacher Training.
5:30am – Daily Cleansing
Shat Kriyas or Yogic cleansing processes are an integral part of yoga as they help eliminate accumulated toxins from the system. The body functions like a machine and like a machine it has to be continuously cleaned and maintained. It is this cleansing of toxins like mucus, gas, acid, sweat, urine and stool that improves its functioning. Kriyas also help prepare the body and condition it for the proper practice of yogasana and pranayama.
6:00am – Daily Hatha practice
An energising Hatha practice. Every morning you will have a Hatha class. These classes are a good place to work on your alignment, learn relaxation techniques, and become comfortable with doing yoga while building strength and flexibility.
7:15am – Pranayama
Breath is essential to life. Our breathing is influenced by our thoughts, and our thoughts and physiology can be influenced by our breath. Learning to breathe consciously and with awareness is the fourth limb of yoga and it can be a valuable tool in helping to restore balance in the mind and body.
8:15am – Breakfast & Study break
Re-fuel with a healthy vegan/vegetarian breakfast in our cafe and enjoy time with your fellow students and teachers, where you can reflect on what you have learnt, what you are feeling and ask questions in a casual, relaxed space.
10:30am – Philosophy or Chanting
The yoga Sutras of Patanjali is a key text of the yoga school of Hinduism and we teach this classic text in a way that you can immediately start incorporating yoga philosophy into your daily life.
Embrace the energy of chanting mantras in your chanting classes. You will learn the meaning of many mantras and when they are used. You will practice mantras you can use in your classes as a teacher and mantras for your own personal use.
11:30am – Meditation
Our meditation and mindfulness classes are based on the teachings of Buddhist Zen Master Thict Nhat Hanh.

12:45pm – Lunch Break
We serve a combination of traditional Vietnamese dishes and western meals to keep you energised and satisfied!
1:45pm – Anatomy
Our Anatomy classes will teach you the fundamental information needed to apply anatomy to yoga postures and your practice.
2:45pm – Self Study break
Chill out on the roof top terrace or sit in the Nomad cafe and hit the books!
4:00pm – Ashtanga practice
Ashtanga yoga is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method of yoga involves synchronising the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
6:00pm – Dinner
After your Ashtanga practice, you will be ready for dinner! This is another chance to reflect on the day, share and enjoy nourishing your body.
UNESCO World Heritage
Hoi An is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th-19th century and gained recognition as a world heritage site in 1999. The contrast of the ancient port set against the colourful yellow old town provides a picturesque setting.
Hoi An is well known for its colourful lanterns that light up the old town at night. Even the canals surrounding the old town are lit up with floating lanterns. Each month they host a full moon festival where the entire old town turns off all the power and is lit only by lanterns.
The cafés in Hoi An are as diverse and unique as the travellers that pass through this town. You will find an endless array of charming restaurants and coffee shops to discover.
Rural Life & Rice Fields
Outside of the old town, you will find traditional rice paddies with cows and ducks grazing as well as fishermen in the tranquil waterways.
Multiple amazing Sandy beaches perfect for a relaxing day swimming.
