What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is a continuous practice that we can bring into our lives at home, at work, at school and in our communities to live life with more awareness, love, peace and joy.
By bringing mindfulness into our daily activities – such as walking, sitting, eating, studying, drinking, waiting to check out at the shops, talking to a friend and hugging a loved one – we can nourish peace, calm, and joy in ourselves and therefore, share it with others.

About Victoria

Victoria Nhan is a yoga and mindfulness teacher, trainer and Reiki practitioner. Victoria first started yoga as a physical exercise practice – she loved the post-yoga feeling after a power or hot flow class (especially during Canadian winters!). As she continued to deepen her practice, she realized that the mat wasn’t just a place to sweat, it was a place to breathe freely, to connect, to balance, and to harmonize the mind, body and spirit.

She believes that the practice is magic; whether we’re looking to move, flow and discover our bodies or simply learn to breathe deeply with awareness and joy, yoga and mindfulness give us the space and tools to do so. Yoga & Mindfulness continue to be a practice that nourishes Victoria both on and off the mat. Victoria’s teachings and practice draw on her own experience and transformation through yoga, mindfulness and Reiki, and builds on the simple question, “how can we live life with more love, peace, and joy?”. She is also the Founder of Yoga in Vietnam – Vietnam’s first and only resource for all things yoga in the country, connecting and deepening the growing yoga community in Vietnam. To learn more about Victoria, visit her website www.victorianhan.com.

Victoria’s practice is based on the Zen Buddhist teachings of the Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village spiritual community. The retreat is open to all backgrounds and religious traditions.

About Hoi An

UNESCO World Heritage

Hoi An is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th-19th century and gained recognition as a world heritage site in 1999. The contrast of the ancient port set against the colourful yellow old town provides a picturesque setting.

Hoi An is well known for its colourful lanterns that light up the old town at night. Even the canals surrounding the old town are lit up with floating lanterns. Each month they host a full moon festival where the entire old town turns off all the power and is lit only by lanterns.

The cafés in Hoi An are as diverse and unique as the travellers that pass through this town. You will find an endless array of charming restaurants and coffee shops to discover.

Rural Life & Rice Fields

Outside of the old town, you will find traditional rice paddies with cows and ducks grazing as well as fishermen in the tranquil waterways.

Multiple amazing Sandy beaches perfect for a relaxing day swimming.

The price does not cover accommodation and travel to/from Hoi An.

We recommend the Hoi An Expats Facebook Group as a resource for finding long-term accommodations. If you need further assistance with finding accommodations, visa info or transportation please let us know.
